The mosaic technique has ancient origins, dates back to the fourth millennium B.C.

In the Byzantine era it was mainly used for the construction of floors and ceilings, and also used for the creation of small objects  as mirrors and lamps.

The technique consists in creating a decoration by gluing some pieces of colored glass on a surface, applying with a small pressure and distancing them from each other ends with grouting
